Hi Everyone Anyone, who has seen this error"'D246' Item returned error. Err: -2147467259" please help. The problem is that Intouch standalone is not updating tags it reads data once and stick to that initial value even if the value changes on the field.
This error "'D246' Item returned error. Err: -2147467259" appears on the server OPC server.
On the Server hosting Intouch HMI the logfiles are clean.

Then you could encounter several DCOM network related challenges and most errors related to this should be noted in Windows Event Log.
You could also check if you can browse your OPC server in Gateway (if your OPC Server exposes items)
Select Properties on a Item
Verify data in the Item window.
Note that the popup will not display data 'live' and you need to close and open it again to get any updates.
This method could be used to verify that you are using correct item-naming in you InTouch tags.
Note, adding items to the Basket, will have OI Gateway creating a reference list that will be available in the Device Items tab. This will be a 'Alias list' so if needed you can simplify the item name used in your clients.
Modified Name, I can now use MyItem1 as ItemName in InTouch instead of full reference.
But if you do not find any solution to your issue or are unable to view any data remotly, I would advise you to install OI Gateway on the same server as the OPC Server, this will allow you to use Suitelink over the network instead of DCOM.
