You must use version 5.31 or greater to convert this project before upgrading

Hello All,

I was modifying graphics in my existing project created in Version 2016 with Jun 2019 update. After some modification when i restart Citect studio i am getting this error 

"WARNING: Cannot convert 'Project_Name' to version version 8.0 format.

You must use version 5.31 or greater to convert this project before upgrading !!"

After this error i'm not able to modify or edit any configuration or even access my project. I have to do same things in old backup again.

Have any one faced this kind of issue?

Let me know anyone know resolution.

  • I'm having this issue, I've created the graphics in AVEVA plant scada 8.4 version and trying to copy to my oldest system CITECT 7.4, but I can't do it. Already have tried the Eric Black suggestion but it not worked yet. Anybody is facing this problem ? And have any point to include ?

    There have been substantial changes to the graphics file format from v7.4 to 8.4, it would not be possible to downgrade your graphics. Upgrading graphics from lower to higher versions is supported.

    Can you share with us why you are using quite an old version (v7.4)? Is there any chance to upgrade this to the latest release to take advantage of enhancements and quality improvements?

    So unfortunately I've lost some days of work here...

    My company is updating our software version and creating safety rules, but until they approve the new version, I have to maintain the old running. We still using the v7.4 and developing processes and everything there. But, as we are installing a new version I tried to create the new screen on the newest version and also use on the old one. I was hoping to find some add-in or plug-in to install and read the new screen.

    Now I know it's better to create in the old version and send to the new one
