Windows 7 to Windows 10

Can anyone comment on updating Citect clients from Windows 7 to Windows 10?  Just in general, i.e., for any Citect version.  Are there security issues, and/or settings that have to be changed on the Windows 10 clients?

Thanks!

  • If you have parallel port keys - there is a cost to change them to USB or floating licenses.
We are in the process of upgrading Citect ver7.4 to 2018 R2. Replacing any old Win7 32 bit PCs with new Win 10 PCs.
But keeping any Win7 Pro 64 bit PCs.
Citect 2018R2 installs and runs fine on the new Win10 PCs.
Win7 Pro 64 bit - takes 4 reboots and some manual manipulation - but Citect 2018R2 eventually runs.
Still getting printers, automatic texts & emails, etc to work properly on Win10.
Win10 also has an inactivity timeout the logs the PC out. Any ideas on how to turn this feature off?
