Question about Control Client licenses

Hello All,

I would like to ask what is the difference between these two types of Control Client licenses: "Citect SCADA Control Client" and "Citect SCADA Control Client, Redundant".

Our system topology consists of two Citect SCADA 2018 server computers (with redundancy configured) and two control client computers. The SCADA system can be operated with either of the two client computers through their user interfaces.

Which licenses should be configured in these two Control Client computers? I presume both server computers should have the "Citect SCADA Server" licenses installed, but how about the clients? Should they have Citect SCADA Control Client or Citect SCADA Control Client, Redundant licenses? We would like each of the four computers to have their own local floating license instead of installing all the licenses on the server computers. Is this possible?

Thanks!

  • Dear Erik & Olivier,

thank you for your information. I activated the Control Client licenses on the client computers without problems, but unfortunately the client closes immediately upon starting the SCADA system. Runtime Manager complains about Software protection failure (no full licenses available).

This is strange because the server computers do not have any problems starting up their SCADA server & client processes. Do you have any suggestions to solve this problem?

Below is a screenshot from the client.
