Question about Control Client licenses

Hello All,

I would like to ask what is the difference between these two types of Control Client licenses: "Citect SCADA Control Client" and "Citect SCADA Control Client, Redundant".

Our system topology consists of two Citect SCADA 2018 server computers (with redundancy configured) and two control client computers. The SCADA system can be operated with either of the two client computers through their user interfaces.

Which licenses should be configured in these two Control Client computers? I presume both server computers should have the "Citect SCADA Server" licenses installed, but how about the clients? Should they have Citect SCADA Control Client or Citect SCADA Control Client, Redundant licenses? We would like each of the four computers to have their own local floating license instead of installing all the licenses on the server computers. Is this possible?

Thanks!

  • Thanks Patrick,

I followed your instruction and managed to get the client working. Seems like unchecking the Full License checkbox solved the problem. Finally the Client starts up normally and I can operate the system through the client. What's the meaning of "Full License", anyway? What exactly is a "Full License Control Client"?

    Thanks for your help!
