Citect Studio is not opening (Citect Scada 2018)

Is this is a fresh installation? I would check that program files folders and program data folders exist as expected. Also check the citect.ini. Lastly, see if there is anything in the log folder, perhaps it logged something of use. If you still have issues, I'd recommend calling Citect Support who can connect with you and debug online.

Agreed with Olivier, just let me add that It will be good to check the windows event log and with all those info (as suggested by Olivier) contact Citect Support.

Do you have another version of Citect installed? If you have maybe the path in Citect.ini is wrong.

We had a problem with Citect 2018 R2 installing on Win7 64bit.
Installation runs without error - but Citect Studio wouldn't start.
No problems when installed on Win10.

To get around the problem on Win7 64bit:
Check files in C:\ProgramData\AVEVA\Citect SCADA 2018 R2\User - some maybe missing.
eg Master.DBF, Example projects.
Just copy these files/folders from a successful installation and Citect Studio opens.

Peter, I reckon the issue with win7 is something related to windows 7 that was not updated.
Before installing Citect check if your windows version is matching the version indicated in the Technology Matrix or in the Security Central.

Thanks Antonio. That'll be very true. The Win7 machines would not have had an update in quite a while.
