Trend capture in Aveva Historian 2020

I have Citect 2018 and aveva historian 2020 with connector running on a separate client computer. My problem is that Historian seems to be capturing some trends and not capturing other trends. have restarted and re-linked connector, historian and citect multiple times, and nothing has fixed the issue. All of the trends show up in historian analog tags, but some show NULL value in historian while they are working fine in Citect. Trends that work are identical in configuration to trends that don't.

Any Ideas?

The best approach is to reach out to Technical Support. Before that, you could do

Ensure that the Historian property of trend tags should be set True.

Check the connector logs that are by default located at C:\ProgramData\Wonderware\Citect SCADA Connector\Log

Have a look at logs if there is any error in the trend related events. As highlighted in the screen capture below, confirm if the trend tags with missing samples are listed in the logs (within the data aquisition window - 10 mins by default)

Can you confirm the answer for others benefit? Was it the missing backfill HF wasn't installed on your machine?

Going to, but he basically gave me a set of instructions I followed, but I haven’t had time yet to digest it and figure out why it fixed the problem

So Tech Support contacted me when they saw this posted on the forum, that was great. Essentially he had me shut the connector service down clear the data folder and restart. This re-initiated the backfill config. It worked, I can' say I fully understand why because all of those trends existed when we initially switched to wonderware Historian and installed the connector so they should have been grabbed the first time. Sometime you just have to be okay with "It's fixed".

I'd definitely recommend applying this Hotfix, as the symptoms of the HF sound like your problem:
"If there are any gap in the trend data, trend requests from connector never proceed"

As previously noted, it is fixed, and no the file you mention is not missing from the machine and it has been updated with the hot fix file.
