Webclient View-only Client

I don't believe there is an option to remove the Control Client option.

Any solution would possibly require customization of the web files. I hope others in the community who might have experience with this can share their knowledge here.

Please be advised that from Plant SCADA 2023 and later, the legacy Active-X Web Client has been deprecated. It is still officially supported and can be used on previous versions, as per the life cycle of the individual product.

We encourage customers to adopt the new HTML5 web client technology or Access Anywhere solutions instead.

Yes. You need to use Windows Explorer to manually configure security settings to deny access to the Citect\Deploy\#displayclient folder under InetPub. Then, the view-only client users will only have the icon to run in view-only mode. Here's a clip from the "Installation Guide.pdf" on the Citect DVD where you can find the instructions:

Oh good point Eric Black , it is done in the initial setup, which controls whether control or view only is available per user. I do remember now that if done appropriately, the only icon the end user will see if the view only one. Thanks for sharing this!
