Hello everyone. Can you help me with the following configuration problem. System management server throws an error " Service Watchdog_Service failed to start in the specified wait time".

Have you taken a look at Operation Control Logger? You can open it by launching Operation Control Management Console from Windows Start Menu, as shown below. Then go to Logger View -> Default Group -> Local. Hopefully, there is more information logged for this exception.

But from your screenshot, it looks like you tried to reconfigure SMS. Maybe something wasn't cleaned up properly. Could you try to

• Select the 3rd option - No System Management Server, then configure. This action should clean up the previous configuration.
• Select the 2nd option again and configure.

SMS appears to have been configured. As for the warning, it is a standard message when a Windows service fails to start up within the given time. The "Watchdog Service" manages a number of other registered PCS services. It must be in running mode to keep the system healthy.

• Check Logger and see if there is any useful information related to this warning.
• Launch "Services" from Windows Start Menu
• Try to restart AVEVA Agent

• Check Windows Event Viewer and see if there is any error on the service start-up

If the issue still persists, the last option is to repair PCS.

• Go to Windows Control Panel
• Click on "Programs and Features"
• Select PCS and then click on "Repair"

Below is the PCS version shipped in Plant SCADA 2023 R2. If you are using the previous release, simply look for AVEVA Platform Common Services and repair. You may have to reconfigure SMS after the repair.

I try to install clear machine with Windows Server 2025 Standard in Domain with Active Directory.

When i try install Plant Scada 2023R2 on Administrator Account this popup occurs.

I installed Plant SCADA 2023 R2 on Windows Server 2025, and it installed and runs fine.

It is ambiguous in your previous post, did you try install this on a machine that is a domain controller?

This is not officially supported. Please see TN 000035267 for details.

Please note that Plant SCADA 2023 R2 is officially supported on Windows Server 2025. See Tech Matrix:

If you experience any issues, please raise a support ticket to get it investigated further.

So if it is not officially supported in domain AD the only option is use workgroup and RDS CAL per Device when i use also Access Anywhere ?

I have installation  where i have  Windows Server 2025 Standard and RDS CAL per User (Domain AD), but I installed everything first in the workgroup and then i install Active Directory. Plant SCADA installed before install AD without a mistake and Access Anywhere too and everything work correctly.

When I try install Plant Scada on clear machine when i have installed Domain Active Directory then i have this error with watchdog.

Plant SCADA does support running in a domain, but you cannot install Plant SCADA on the server that acts as Domain Controller.
