In the SP2023R2 you can add a CustomLayer in the MapApp as a source. To do this, you can add a zip file.
Because I cannot find it in the documentation:
What are the specs for the zip file to use as a customlayer?

Hi Corneel,
I see that you have created a SR for this question. I have confirmed that the documentation is not available at the moment and will ask that engineer assigned to your case to obtain that info and to provide that to you.
Will also update this tread with that detail as well when it becomes available.
Thanks,
Jerry
The information will be available in SP2023 R2 Patch 01. If anyone needs a copy to be used with SP2023 Patch 04 or SP2023 R2, please message me a message privately and I will provide access to the ShareFile link below containing the PDF:
Have you implemented this ? I have used custom map layers with OMI and found it quite slow. When we dug deeper we saw all the rendering was done in OMI App ViewEngine which can get loaded where are more number of data points. The way we solved it was to host the maps and its associated layers outside of OMI APP in a Map server ( ArcGIS, Esri ) and call the layer using the Map App. I also believe AVEVA has a OMI Map web version which works much better and GEOSize , an AVEVA Partner who have a better solution
Hello, I'm currently trying to implement custom layers as well. How did you acquire the zip files for this? I've been looking for a North America map.
