Content Presenter flexibility

With content presenter you can include children but you also need to choose the parent directory from which content presenter will choose the children, if you can share some screenshots of your content presenter settings we can look, but looking at your description it sounds like NavTree Control and not Content Presenter

More clarification here, from the viewapp we selected only the areas without including the objects under the areas : 

You can also see that we load the content presenter layour from the navigation node called "ParemetresTemporisation"

The parameters are currently the following when I open the layout including the content presenter app : 

My model view is as follow : 

When objects are included in the viewapp navigation, then the content presenter shows the symbols. If we unselect it then the content presenter will not search. We have also try to change the autofill fom current only to up and down

So the content presenter uses that navigation to find the content for you, the way to solve your problem is to duplicate the navigation, set the first one to not include children, set the second one to choose children and point the content presenter to the second navigation option

But in that way the full model view will be dispayed at runtime under the content presenter right ? Can't we force the content presenter to look into the model view and not the viewapp navigation ? 

You see my point, i don't want to show 3k objects just because I want to browse them from the content presenter app... 

Full model view will not be shown if you duplicate from the beginning  before Valfrance and in the navgiation show  from Valfrance downwards 

I have done this similar in other projects but can't share them unfortunately

So you ask me just below Valfrance to create a duplicated navigation including children (all children right ?) This duplicated navigation node (called eg : ContentPresenter) should have as reference my area ValFrance (first level of my model view) correct ? 

From the new navigation node including all children I'll link my content presenter layout. 

Is that the way you want me to do ?

I'll show the setup in my demo environment of how to do it and send you screenshots, mostly send you by tomorrow as my environment is expired and need to re license it

For those interested the workaround was the following :

- create new navigation node called as example « not used » in the view app

- include all children 

- point the content presenter from your normal navigation to the new navigation node 

- set the access level so that only maintenance can see the not used navigation.

However it would be smart to enhance this behavior. I think if the only way for the content presenter app is to read the viewapp navigation and not the model view we should have a « hide from runtime » button in the viewapp editor. It’s not super solution to expose the not used node. It’s a limitation in the contentpresenter utilization. 
We should be able to read any graphics from the children somehow without exposing them in runtime navigation. I never seen a omi app with all children (only in the mixer application from the SP training).

Perhaps Ernst can give some feedback on that ?
