Faster method to modify Equipment types?

update, I have discovered the collection of equipment .XML files in my project directory.

Is it possible to copy/paste these fields between types? I'm hesitant as there seems to be unique elements that could corrupt something else.

Correct. You have to collect those xml files associated the equipment types defined in eqtype.dbf in your portable package.. 
Project DBF Add-in only supports Excel 32bit edition.
DBFPlus is another free tool that could be used to update dbf files.

Thom , you can copy the fields either in the editor or xml, but in both cases there are "gotchas".  The GUID needs to be unique, so in the XML editor you will need to make something up for that.  Some combination of equipment name and item should guarantee that.  in the editor, it is possible to have 2 types open and copy between them, but you have to hold your tongue right and I can't remember the exact details.
