Citect SCADA 2018 R2 - Configure I/O Device Communications - Using Ethernet

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to configure the I/O Devices using an Ethernet connection. Follow the instruction as Citect SCADA web help from steps 1 to 3. I already finished it.

Move to the last step: Define the I/O Device units. The screen of the I/O Device setting shows that I have to fill in the address of the equipment again. The photo below

But the address I already define in step 2 of the instruction in the Ports form. The photo below

My question is: Do I need to fill the address again in the Configuration of I/O Device setting?

Best Regards

Canh

  • It depends on the driver you use. It should be documented in the driver help.
The pictures you attached in the original post are not showing for me, so it is difficult to answer this question.
  • Sorry, I would like to up the photo again via this link: The sequence number of the photo is 1 2, and 3 according to the post from top to bottom.

  • Hi

    as mentioned by Patrick

The driver reference gives you all the information you need for the form, in Citect Studio, go to the Topology, then select IO devices then select Driver Reference Help. Once that opens go to TITCPIP Driver > Simatic TI TCP/IP > Communications Forms

  • According to the TITCP driver help you don't need to set an address in the I/O Devices form. Just leave it blank.
Are you sure you are using the correct driver for your situation? TITCP is for quite old hardware (Siemens SIMATIC TI 505 PLCs).
